Q1) What is a Third Eye Remote Viewing & Surveillance System (RVSS) and how can I use it to monitor my home, office or factory/warehouse?

The Third Eye RVSS is a remote viewing and surveillance system designed to monitor your home, office or factory/warehouse. The system has an efficient video recording with video motion detection (VMD) function to allow you quick response to any VMD alert or fast video playback search on any recorded activity.

You can monitor your home, office or factory/warehouse remotely via telephone modem dial-up (PSTN / GSM network) or over the LAN / Internet is easy. The Third Eye RVSS delivers fast video transmission according to the available communication bandwidth.

Q2) How many products are there in The Third Eye RVSS solution?

The Third Eye RVSS solution has two products family - the NV and QV video server system. Each system offers different configurations available from 4 to 16 cameras input per system to meet your requirements.

Q3) What is required if I want to install a Third Eye RVSS solution?

You need to purchase one set of Third Eye RVSS solution per location, these includes the Third Eye video server(s), CCTV cameras and cable wiring installation. To perform remote viewing via telephone modem you need to install a telephone line, or install an ADSL modem/router for fast remote viewing over the Internet.

Q4) What is a Global Directory Service (GDS) and how does it help in my remote viewing over the Internet?

The Global Directory Service (GDS) is a service by Remote Vision Pte Ltd. The GDS provides a public directory listing of participated Third Eye video servers over the Internet. If you enable your Third Eye video server to participate in the GDS, you will be able to connect to your Third Eye RVSS system from anywhere over the Internet with ease. With the GDS you don’t have to worry what public IP is assigned by your ISP provider because the GDS will always provide you with the latest dynamic IP address information for your Third Eye video server(s).

Q5) Do I need to subscribe to the Global Directory Service (GDS) and will I be charged for using this service?

The Global Directory Service (GDS) is a FREE service provided by Remote Vision Pte Ltd to support The Third Eye RVSS video servers over the Internet. You don’t need to pay any subscription to use the GDS. You can enable your Third Eye video server(s) to participate in the GDS directory listing or disable it at anytime if you wish not to join.

Q6) What do I need to do if I have a Firewall and/or Routers in my home/office where my Third Eye video server is installed?

Open the following port(s) if you have a firewall appliance installed:

For NV series:
TCP & UDP (in, out): 818, 40801, 40805, 40818, 40819

For QV series:
TCP & UDP (in, out): 828, 829, 40900, 40901, 40905, 40918, 40919.

If you have a router installed in your network, please activate "port forwarding" for the following port(s) to your NV or QV video server static IP address:

For NV series:
TCP & UDP: 818, 40801, 40805, 40818, 40819

For QV series:
TCP & UDP: 828, 829, 40900, 40901, 40905, 40918, 40919.

Q7) What do I need to do if I have a Firewall and/or Routers in my home/office where I will use my Third Eye Receiver software for remote viewing?Open the following port(s) if you have a firewall appliance installed:

For NV series:
TCP & UDP (in, out): 818

For QV series:
TCP & UDP (in, out): 828, 829
